Getting a seat — especially in a good (government) medical college — usually requires much higher marks. Based on recent trends:

  • For General category (UR) and government MBBS seats — typically 600 to 650+ marks out of 720 — gives a good shot.
  • For OBC / EWS categories — roughly 580 to 620+ marks may work.
  • For SC / ST (or reserved categories) — around 500 to 550+ marks sometimes suffices (depending on state / seat pool / competition).
  • For private or deemed universities (or lower-rank colleges) — seat cutoffs are lower; many candidates with ~400–550 marks might get in, especially under state quota or management quota
